Preparation steps:

1. Peel the ridge gourd and slice it into thin rounds.
2. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan over medium heat.
3. Add 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds and let them sizzle.
4. Stir in 1 chopped onion, saute until translucent.
5. Mix in 1 teaspoon of minced garlic and 1 chopped green chili, cook for a minute.
6. Add the ridge gourd slices, stirring to combine.
7. Season with 1 teaspoon of salt and ½ teaspoon of turmeric.
8. Cook on low heat for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until tender.
